Snow Geese
Bosque Del Apache,New Mexico
Any time that I'm photographing animals in a group I hope to have things work out graphically so that the animals eventually line up in a way that there is a repeated pattern in the image. That's exactly what happened in this photo. I was working in a blind in Bosque Del Apache on the edge of a pond. For what ever reason the Snow Geese all started heading in the same direction to the same part of the pond. When they formed a very dense pattern I composed in the area that had the most geese and made this image. It does a good job of conveying how many birds were in the refuge.
